对福楼拜名作《包法利夫人》的主人公———爱玛而言,生命的全部意义在于令人激动的爱情。为追求这种所谓的理想爱情,她做出了许多于当时男权社会所不允许的举动,按照自己的意愿去爱,去选择自己的生活,因此被许多人视为一个"不正经的女人"。然而,从女性主义的角度来看,爱玛的许多要求是合理的,她身上的一些所谓"特质"实际是女性所共有的,体现着女性意识的觉醒。同时,从爱玛对理想爱情追求的失败可以看出,女性要想得到真正意义上的解放还必须与男权社会做不懈的斗争。

To Emma,the heroine in Flaubert's famous novel Madame Bovary,the significance of life significance is the exciting love.In order to run after this so-called ideal love,she has done something that was not allowed in male-dominated society.She has gone for love on her willing and has chosen her own life,and is considered as a "decent woman of block of wood" by many people.However,judging from feminist perspective,many of her demands are reasonable.Some of her particularity is common with women,and embodies the awakening of female awareness.Simultaneously,it can be seen from the failure that Emma runs after the ideal love that they must make persistent and indefatigable contending with male-centered society to win real liberation.
